On February 27th, 2020, from 2:00pm-3:00pm EST, AdvaMed and Baker Tilly will hold a webinar on Payers’ Perspectives on Value Based Care: What Life Sciences Companies Should Know.
As the shift from volume to value matures in the healthcare ecosystem, life sciences companies will need to devote more time and resources to evaluating whether risk sharing or value based contracting (VBC) are worthwhile endeavors. These contracts, when properly designed can drive incremental revenue by tapping into specific market segments and geographic regions. The primary questions companies need to answer include:
- Is it feasible to enter into one of these agreements? If so, what are the best practices for structuring, monitoring and reconciling these contracts?
Before companies even consider entering into one of these arrangements, they should have an advanced understanding of the longitudinal performance of their product in the target payer/provider systems, as well as representative national level real world evidence, such as commercial claims and/or electronic medical records. Understanding the balance of risks is the first step to creating an effective value based contracting executable strategy.
This webinar will address best practices on how to start a value based contract journey with payers/providers, with an emphasis on how payers view the role of the life sciences industry. Join us in a discussion led by David Gregory, James Pierce, and Mike Patti of Baker Tilly on the steps necessary for executing a winning value based contract strategy.
Agenda topics include:
- VBC feasibility
- Enablement of a VBC
- Common VBC structures
- Reconciliation of VBCs
- Risks and mitigation factors
